Department of Physiology

The major focus of the department of Physiology is on yield formation. Various analytical methods are applied to study the impact of breeding, environment and agronomic practices on the technical quality of sugar beet. All IfZ trials are routinely analyzed for sugar beet technical quality.

• Yield formation and quality development
• Winter beet: cold hardiness and biogas production
• Defoliated sugar beet
• Mechanism of sucrose storage
• Storage: technical quality
